Avenida del Libertador No. 1473

Nuestra Señora del Pilar Basilica
It was finished in 1732. The construction was directed by the Jesuit architect Andrés Blanqui. It preserves altarpieces and great part of the images and worship elements from the time Recoletos monks inhabited the convent. Next to the church, it operates as a small museum.
Junín No. 1892

Recoleta Cementery
It used to be Recoletos monks’ garden until it became a public cemetery in 1822, after the expulsion of the religious order. Sober, silent and mystic, it was first opened under the name of Miserere, and then it was renamed del Norte, and finally received the name it bears today.
The importance of this National Historical Monument lies in two aspects: its neo-colonial, neoclassical and baroque architectural style, being one of the four most valuable cemeteries in the world at architectural and artistic level; and its tombs and mausoleums where the remains of heroes, independence warriors, presidents, writers, scientists, artists and other personalities of the country lie.
It is recommended to visit the Cementery with a specialized guide, since every corner has something to say.
It is located among Junin, Vicente Lopez and Azcuénaga streets (B º Recoleta)
